Design & Construction

A polyester canvas fabric is used for the material of the suitcase which makes the suitcase light in weight. This is great as users can pack more weight in. Despite the canvas material, people have stated that it is very strong and durable and a few have commented that this is more durable than other well-known luggage brands.

the Eastpak Tranverz suitcase embodies a lightweight yet durable canvas construction and secure straps.

This Eastpak Tranverz suitcase closes with zips which are also lockable on its own or it can be locked to a fabric tab with an eyelet on the side as well. The zips are strong some people may prefer to have a fitted lock instead.

Two wheels are fitted on the bottom at the back of the suitcase. To wheel the suitcase along, there’s a telescopic handle which easily pulls up with the push of a button. The height of this handle can be adjusted and locked to the required height.

To help the suitcase stand upright, there are 3 stoppers attached on the bottom – one in the middle and two opposite the wheels.

Two padded handles are fitted to enable users to carry the suitcase if needed (one is on the top and the other is on the side).

There are several sizes available for the Eastpak Tranverz suitcase. These include:

  • A large size at 79cm height – great for family holidays.
  • A medium at 66cm height – people have found ideal for a 2-3 week holiday.
  • A small at 51cm height – for carry-on luggage.
  • An extra small at 48cm height – ideal for low cost airlines as cabin luggage or for short breaks.

The colour option is quite large at 20 for you to choose from (depending on what size you choose). A lot of people like this as they were able to choose uncommon colours which made it easier for them to identify their luggage.

Suitcases can take up a lot of space and some people may not have the space to store this. Luckily, compression straps are fitted on both sides of the suitcase. These straps connect together with plastic buckles that lock into place and unlock by pushing the sides of the buckle in.

The compression straps allow the suitcase to be flattened down into a more compact size for storage or to get rid of the extra space left after packing. This is useful particularly when you don’t have a lot of space in small hotel rooms or at home. Many users like it because it helps to keep their clothing and items from moving about.

Inside & Outside Compartments

On the outside of the Eastpak Tranverz, there is one large external zippered pocket. It is about three quarters of the size of the suitcase which means it can fit a lot. This is ideal for putting magazines in or other quick stash items. Unfortunately, as there is only one zip on this pocket, it cannot be locked so it is best not to put anything important in here.

A double deck compartment and multiple smaller zipped sections allows great organisation.

Inside are the double deck compartments with zippered closures. Both compartments are spacious. The bottom compartment has one pocket on the outside but there is no zip here. It is fairly small so only small items can be stashed here. Some people have used it for easy access items that are important.

Elastic garment straps are also attached in the bottom compartment to help keep clothes in place. Some may prefer to have this in the top compartment as well but many found that clothing stayed in place anyway because they used the compression straps.

Having 2 separate compartments is beneficial because clothing can be separated as clean and dirty or as casual and formal clothing. This makes it easier to organise items and find them.

Comfort & Convenience

People found that wheeling the Eastpak Tranverz suitcase along to be easily moveable and felt the wheels were quite sturdy which suggests it is durable. It has been noted how smooth and quiet the wheels roll as well. When carrying the suitcase, users have found it comfortable to carry due to the thick padding.

Available in different colours and sizes to suit all types of travellers.

With two compartments it may be difficult to pack big or multiple items in one compartment due to the depth being only half the size of the suitcase. Packing is a bit of a hassle in a small room as well because you have to open the suitcase up fully to pack or to access either side.

The two compartments need to be evenly packed so it balances out otherwise the suitcase will topple over when it’s upright.

However, you can use the compression straps to flatten the extra space or pack more into the bottom compartment which helps to prevent this from happening.

The medium size suitcase is quite roomy and enough for two people to use on a two week holiday. It’s perfect as it meant you’re able to separate clothing and only carry one suitcase.

For the small size suitcase, a few people were unable to bring this as carry-on luggage on certain airlines due to the size being a centimetre or so bigger. It has been suggested that the extra small size would be the better option as it fit all airline measurements as a carry-on.
