Throwing in the already feared crimes of human trafficking, assault, muggings and murder into this cesspool, it makes you wonder, ‘Where is it safe to travel to now?’.
However, that doesn’t mean there’s no safe places to travel to anymore. We put together a list of safe places to holiday in and some of these have the most beautiful architecture, landscape and cities that call out to be explored without fear of violent crimes so read on for more.
The naturally beautiful Nordic country of Iceland was ranked 1st in the 2015 Global Peace Index as the safest places to travel in the world due to its low crime rates and low risk of terrorist threats. That’s not to say crime doesn’t occur though as petty theft and anti-social behaviour can still take place. This usually happens in lively cities of the country such as Reykjavik in downtown bars but it never amounts to anything serious.
When visiting Iceland, Reykjavik is the best city to visit because of the aurora borealis aka northern lights which takes place during the months of September to April. Besides this, there are also the charms of whale watching, exploring geysers and volcanic landscapes and bathing in the Blue Lagoon.
